About Me!

Hi! My name is Jessica Magallanes and I am a first time college student. I am creating this blog as a part of an assigned project to discuss interesting and important topics within Sociology and apply it to issues that we see today.

First off I will tell you a little about myself! I am the youngest of 4 children and have an amazing family supporting me through college. I am taking this sociology course in hopes of joining the criminology field and become a DNA Analysts. I plan to transfer to UCI when I complete my general ed to join their criminology program.  Since sociology and criminology seem to go hand-in-hand, I thought this class would be a great introduction!

I also just graduated from high school this past May which is really exciting! In high school I was involved in the school's ASB and served as the Executive Activities Coordinator, which is a fancy name for an event coordinator :) (I hope to join my college's ASB soon!) I was also in a four year college prep program where each year we competed in a National History Day competition and in my junior year I was able to move on to the county competition! It was a really awesome experience to work with such great staff and make a lot of great high school memories!.

Now I am currently working at my first job at a local pizza place and loving it! I have made a lot of new friends and making my own money has really taught me the importance of it. Besides that I am also a full time student and am already feeling the wrath of never-ending school assignments :P

On a more personal note I love reading books (some of my favorite writers are J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, and Kiera Cass), working out, playing video games and watching YouTube videos. (Pretty basic, I know!) I am also completely obsessed with Disneyland,  since I have a pass I get to go all the time!

I am really looking forward to continuing this blog and learning more about human behavior! I promise I will try to not be boring and I hope you guys learn a little something too :)
